Our insight is used to create action plans on...

  • Product – NPD, EPD, Innovation
  • Place - Range Reviews, Channel Plans,
  • Promotion – ATL, BTL, Communication
  • Price – Retail Prices, Promotional Recommendations

 

 

Our Category Executive Role

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Generating insights & recommendations to grow the Cheese and Butter Category
  • Champion the voice of the consumer and shopper within the business and externally with Tesco
  • Using a vast spectrum of data and with support from the Category Manager, you will focus on the shopper & consumer to optimize the product offer
  • You will closely with the Category Manager develop an in depth understanding of many Category dynamics.  These would include (but not limited to) wider grocery trends, category performance, what is driving performance, importance of and the role of channels and missions
  • By using the long-term Category Vision, your recommendations will be equally focused on short & long-term objectives and opportunities & recommendations created will be tailored to the Tesco customer base

 

Key Tasks:

  • Generating insights and writing presentations for projects outlined by the Category Manager
  • Reviewing the impact of promotions at a total Category level & Ornua’s portfolio
  • Completing adhoc requests from Tesco and internal stakeholders
  • Completing value added reports for Tesco & internal stakeholders
  • Maintaining accuracy of databases by coding new products
  • Managing the day to day relationship for one of our data agencies

 

Other Duties:

  • Champion best practice Category Management across the Category team, the UK business and the Ornua group

 

Personal Profile:

 

Essential

  • 1+ years Marketing and/or Sales experience in FMCG environment
  • Good presentational skills
  • Highly numerate
  • Well organised
  • Advanced use PowerPoint and Excel skills
  • Beginner use of Kantar, Dunnhumby & IRI or Nielsen

Desirable

  • Knowledge of joint business planning
  • Knowledge of shopper marketing processes
  • Able to articulate data concepts to a non-expert audience

 

 

Competency & Behaviour:

  • Compelling & confident communicator with the ability to handle objections effectively
  • Comfortable networker operating across a range of customer & internal contacts – width & seniority
  • Tenacious in the provision of solutions and proven ability to get recommendations implemented
  • Possess a thorough, disciplined and detailed working style
  • Ability to travel to customer meetings, with occasional overnight stays
